BEHIND THE BRAND
As cliché as it sounds, I’ve always felt like I was on a different path in life. While most little girls played house, dress up, and designed their dream weddings, I grew up in a Harley Shop and secretly wanted to run away and join the Circus. In those early years, I wouldn't be caught dead in a dress and I was probably covered in dirt or grease while I played with my best friends who were, well…all boys.
As I got older, I spent more time in a home office than your average Middle School kid. For my entire life, I watched my Grandpa run his own company and be his own boss. I organized catalogs, balanced check books, filed invoices, and eventually started going on sales calls with my Papa. Little did I know at the time, that a seed had been planted that years later would have a massive influence on my life.
You see, my Grandpa was in the business of Advertising and Selling Promotional Products to companies. This is what I like to think of as the old timey way of what we now call “Branding”. From Pens, to caps, calendars, keychains, shirts, jackets, and anything else you could put a company logo on, he sold it, and my love for physical products and apparel was born.
After many years of living “The American Dream”, you know, College, Marriage, Kids, a Corporate Job, and a 401K, I was burned the eff out!
Now don’t get me wrong, the marriage and kids thing has worked out just fine. I have been married to my loving and spectacularly supportive husband Carter for 17 years and we have 2 amazingly kind and athletically gifted children Caine 16 and Caimen 10, along with Lucifer, our giant baby of an American Bully. But, when it came to all the other stuff society said I needed to have to be considered successful, I was OUT.
So, I did what most Corporate Drop Outs and Stay at Home Moms do when they want to make some money…I joined one of those Pyramid things. I know…insert eye roll here. However, I am happy to say that I am still involved in the Direct Selling Industry and I am blessed to work with a large team of amazingly kind and talented humans.
I created LUXE because after years of talking to and working with thousands of women, I began to realize that something was missing, like really missing and it was robbing them of the life that they were totally capable of having. The lacked confidence.
Now, there are many ways to help women build their confidence but, for me there was only one way that felt real and true to who I am…and that is creating, surprise surprise, Physical Products and Apparel that are strong, funny, and many times, appropriately inappropriate.
Something as little as taking that first delicious sip of coffee out of a mug that proudly states that you’re, Too LUXE to give a F*ck, can give a woman that hell bent for glory, watch out world, I’m going to make today my bitch kinda vibe! Ya feel me!
So off I go on a hell bent for glory mission of my own to elevate and empower women, one funny t-shirt or inappropriate coffee mug at a time.
And as Martha Stewart would say…”It ain’t no fun, if the homies can’t have none.” Just kidding, that was totally Snoop Dogg. Anyway…I’m excited to take you on this journey with me and I am beyond grateful for all of your support on this new adventure. It’s going to be a hell of a ride!
And one last thing, a question…
What if you fully embraced the fact that the cost of admission to the next level of your life is the courage and confidence to let people think what they want?
